BolBuddy ("we", "us") helps you learn English and French. We respect your privacy and collect only what we need to run the app and save your progress. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Account information: if you create an account, we store your email address and (optionally) a display name.
Learning progress: your XP, streak, completed lessons, level, daily goal and learning goal so we can save and sync your progress across devices.
On-device settings: preferences such as sound on/off are stored locally on your device.
We do NOT collect your contacts, location, photos, browsing history, or any payment information.
Some speaking exercises use your device's built-in speech recognition to check your pronunciation. This runs through your operating system's speech recognition (e.g. Apple's) and may be processed on their servers under their privacy policy. We do not record, store, or upload your voice.
To create and secure your account, to save and sync your learning progress, and to operate and improve the app.
BolBuddy is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising identifier), IP address, and coarse ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads, under Google's privacy policy.
On iOS we ask for your permission through App Tracking Transparency. If you decline, you still get the app for free — we simply request non-personalized ads instead.
We never share your learning progress, email, or account data with advertisers.
We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to store your account and progress on secure Google Cloud servers, and Google AdMob to serve ads. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms and privacy commitments.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from Settings → your account → Delete my account. You may also contact us at support@bolbuddy.com to request access to or deletion of your data.
BolBuddy is suitable for a general audience. If you are under the age required by law in your country to consent to data processing, please use the app with a parent or guardian.
We rely on industry-standard security provided by Google Cloud. We keep your data for as long as your account exists; deleting your account removes it.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
